Crock Pot Pork Carnitas

Carnitas are not something I ever expected to be making in the Crock Pot. But when I found a Pork Carnitas Street Tacos seasoning packet at Walmart, I knew I had to try it. The packet recipe calls for pork shoulder, but many grocery stores, including Walmart, have pre-cut pork carnitas on a tray. (That’s what I went with.) For the single-serving recipe, click here. Let me just say, they were DELICIOUS! Everyone in our family loved them, even the two youngest!

Here’s what you need:

Ingredients

2.5-4 lbs pork shoulder or pre-cut pork carnitas (Walmart has them)
1 packet McCormick Street Taco Pork Carnitas slow cooker seasoning

Soft Taco tortillas

Optional toppings
Fresh cilantro, chopped
Red onion, chopped
Fresco crumbling cheese
Lime wedges
Sliced avocado

Directions

1. Place the pork in the Crock Pot. Pour seasoning over pork and toss to coat.
2. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or high for 5-6 hours.
3. Remove pork and shred. Return to Crock Pot to keep warm.
4. Top with fresh cilantro, onion, Fresco cheese or any other topping you like!
