Since we’ve been under a Stay At Home order, we haven’t ventured out much to drive-thrus. Which means no cherry limeades for me from Sonic. The girls and I love these in the spring and summer and luckily, we can make them at home. The recipe is so simple to make. Here’s what you need:
Ingredients
1-2 liter bottle of Sprite or 7-Up (for a drier cherry limeade, try lime sparkling water or seltzer like La Croix or Bubly)
1/2 c. lime juice
1 c. sugar (to keep sugar from settling on the bottom, I make a simple syrup).
1 jar of maraschino cherries with juice, stems removed
4-5 thin lime slices for garnish
Directions
- Combine all ingredients together in a large pitcher.
- Refrigerate for 30-45 minutes before serving.
See? Super easy. This is a great drink for kids to make too, especially if they are just beginning to learn how to measure and cook. For more great recipes, visit the Recipe Box page!
