Beef Stew is perfect for colder weather and by using a packet of seasoning blend, it’s easy to make too! My favorite spice packet is McCormick Beef Stew but I like the Kroger brand seasoning packet too. Whatever you’ve got or can get easily will work just fine. Here’s what you need:
Ingredients
2 lbs stew meat
4 baby red potatoes, quartered
4 celery stalks, sliced into 1 inch pieces
1-1/2 c. baby carrots
1 med. yellow onion, sliced
1 packet of McCormick Beef Stew seasoning mix
3 c. water
2 Tbsp. flour
Directions
Prepare vegetables and place in the Crock Pot.
Toss stew meat in flour, and transfer to a skillet. Brown all sides over medium heat for about 5 minutes.
Transfer meat to Crock Pot. Cover with seasoning and water. Cover and cook on low for 7-8 hours until meat is fork tender.
If stew hasn’t thickened, mix together 2 Tbsp. of cornstarch with 1 c. of juice from the Crock Pot. Whisk and return to the Crock Pot.
